SEO, website development and social media for a NAPIT-accredited electrical contractor across Cheshire
Client Overview
Portcullis Power Solutions is a NAPIT-accredited, CHAS-certified electrical contractor based in Nantwich, run by Jason Leigh and Hayden Brown-Ford. The business – portcullispower.co.uk – covers domestic, commercial and industrial electrical work across Cheshire, from EICRs and rewires through to EV charging, solar installations and full commercial fit-outs, all carried out by their own qualified team with no subcontractors.
SEO Bridge works with Portcullis across three areas – search visibility, website development, and social media – alongside ongoing trust and citation building across the directories that matter most for a local trade business.
The Challenge
Portcullis had real work and real credentials behind them, but their online presence had not caught up with the scale of the business:
Our Approach
Rather than treating SEO, the website and social media as separate jobs, SEO Bridge built them to reinforce each other – the site’s structure feeds search visibility, the case studies give social media something worth posting, and social proof flows back into the site.
We built Portcullis a full hub-and-spoke SEO architecture designed to capture searches across every town and village they cover, rather than relying on a single generic services page.
We built out a dedicated Case Studies section to document real, completed installations – something the site had never had before – and rebuilt the core Cheshire hub page to properly reflect the range and quality of Portcullis’ work.
For a trade business, being findable and verifiable across the directories customers actually check is as important as ranking on Google. We have been building out Portcullis’ presence across the key citation and review platforms.
We manage Portcullis’ Instagram day to day, turning completed jobs and genuine customer reviews into consistent, branded content that reinforces the same trust signals as the website.
Search Performance
Figures below are pulled directly from Google Search Console and GA4 for the three months to 8 July 2026. Average position across the site has stayed broadly flat over this window – the real story is how much wider the site’s reach has become as the new area pages and hub pages get indexed and start showing for searches they were never eligible for before.
Source: Google Search Console (9 April – 8 July 2026) and GA4 (11 April – 9 July 2026), Portcullis Power Solutions property.
Search Console data shows the term “eicr in sandbach” generating 2,170 impressions at an average position of 7.68 – a page one ranking – with zero clicks. The existing Sandbach electrician page is picking up related traffic (2,273 impressions, 10 clicks, 0.44% CTR), but nothing on the site currently targets this specific EICR search directly. This has been flagged as the next priority page build.
Social Media Results
Alongside search performance, Portcullis’ social media presence has grown into a genuine source of reach and reputation-building in its own right.
Result Detail
Impressions across the site grew 283% comparing the second half of the period against the first – from 2,196 impressions to 8,409 – as the hub-and-spoke architecture of area pages, hubs and blogs began getting indexed and surfaced for a much wider range of local search terms. The branded term “Portcullis Power Solutions” now sits at an average position of 1.44, confirming strong brand search dominance.
Of all traffic channels, organic search converts by far the best – a 71% engagement rate and a 54% session key event rate, meaning over half of all organic search sessions resulted in a meaningful action such as a call or form submission. This compares to a 40% engagement rate for direct traffic and 28% for organic social, confirming that search-driven visitors are Portcullis’ highest-intent audience.
The new filterable case studies page turns 11 real completed installations – spanning domestic, commercial, solar, lighting, fit-out and fire alarm work – into proof of capability that did not exist on the site before, directly supporting both SEO and social content.
In the most recent 30-day period, the Instagram account generated 5,044 views and reached 2,494 accounts, with 57% of those views coming from non-followers – people discovering Portcullis for the first time.
